Description

Material Notes:
Bynel® Series 2100 resins are anhydride-modified ethylene acrylate resins. They contain a temperature stable ester that makes them functional in high temperature coextrusions. They are available in pellet form for use in conventional extrusion and coextrusion equipment designed to process polyethylene (PE) resins.Applications: Bynel® 2169 and Bynel® 2174 adhere to a wide variety of materials. They are most often used to adhere to PE and PET. They also adhere to EVA, EVOH, polyamide, PC, and PP. Bynel® 2169 is designed for cast film or extrusion coating processes. Bynel® 2174, which has a lower melt index than Bynel® 2169, is suitable for blown film and blow molding applications. The Bynel® 2100 Series resins can be used in a variety of coextrusion coating and laminating applications, e.g., as a tie layer for PET/PE sheet coextrusions replacing rigid PVC.Physical properties of Bynel® Series 2100 resins are typical of polyethylene/acrylate copolymer resins with similar density and melt index values. The rheology characteristics of each grade are different, so one may be better suited than the other to a particular extrusion process.Information provided by DuPont Packaging Polymers.
